My colour scheme is heavily inspired by the stone brewing website colour scheme, using a lot of dark colours for background elements such as:
- Dark Grey
and then brighter colours for the headings and main body text such as:
But instead of just using the colour scheme I wanted to understand the choices of these colours a little more so I looked further into the meaning behind these colours and why they would be a good idea to implement into my website, by using colour psychology chart:
The Colour Black
Represents mystery, which fits in with the idea of 80 days, its quite a mysterious place in relation to other bars in Hull but also the selection of craft beer can be considered a mystery as to the customer never knows exactly whats going to be on the menu each week.
Also it states on the resource that the colour black allows bright colours to really stand out against it, so the use of the yellows for the headings and bright imagery will work really well with this colour. Also it states the same thing about darker grey colours, using a secondary dark colour will allow for the website to not just be one static colour throughout.
The Colour Yellow
It states on the resource that yellow is the colour of:
Which represents the point of 80 days perfectly you go in to enjoy yourself, be happy and have intellectual conversations about the product.
